The Picket Pin was originally tied in the very early 1900's by an angler from Missoula, Montana! Needless to say, it has stood the test of time, and should not be overlooked in a fly fisher's fly box.
It can be fished as a Floating fly, a Nymph, or a Streamer pattern! That is truly the definition of an all purpose fly pattern.
From Trout to Bluegill, Bass, and other Panfish, fish everywhere have shown their interest in the Picket Pin pattern.
I tie these on size 8 and 10 3xlong hooks for my needs!
